Sunday football means ordering delivery pizza! Windy City Pizza ended up being perfect because my small pizza was free with the other food we ordered. They claim to be a Chicago style pizza shop but IMO the pizza I had was “New England suburban Greek” style more than anything.
The crust is definitely reminiscent of the suburban Greek pan style… I think this might only be for the small size though, & not the only way they make pizza. The crust was soft, fluffy, and had above average thickness. Not Sicilian level by any means, but definitely a pan crust. It was buttery overall and just great.
The sauce was sweet, and had pretty good coverage. The pepperoni were of average quality, with decent placement. Windy City covers the pepperonis with cheese which I love. As for the cheese itself, it was above average but I just wish there was a liiiiittle more of it. It had a good sharp taste, and had congealed nicely by the time our delivery guy arrived.
The coverage was a little lacking, as you can see where the sauce was uncovered. Overall, this was an above average showing for an under the radar neighborhood pizza shop.
