This being a $5 convenience store brand pizza, my expectations were pretty low. However, I ended up being sneaky blown away by Walgreens. The crust was the least impressive part of the pizza. It did rise, and was chewy. However, it was pretty flavorless. Not offensive but not good either. The sauce was spicy, with a pretty liberal application. Definitely a nice taste. The star of the pizza was the cheese. It seemed like relatively good quality, and was a mix of mozzarella, asiago, parmesan, and romano. Again, good, liberal coverage… as you can see, it spread out onto the end crust, which is always good to see. It also congealed pretty quickly. Last but not least, the pepperonis were on the thick side, and there was a good amount of them. They caused some grease pools to occur, but I was totally okay with it mainly because it was delicious. Bravo, Walgreens.
