Recently, I was invited to visit The Townshend in Quincy and try out a bunch of their food and drinks. The Townshend located right in Quincy Center across from the T station, and I had no problem finding street parking on a Tuesday. That’s a win right off of the bat. Inside the space isn’t huge, but has a great bar and room to accommodate large parties if need be. We posted up at a high top table and got ready for a king’s feast.
I tried these two cocktails first – on the left is the PX Painkiller, and on the right is the Gin Basil Smash. I love basil, but gin not so much, so I was definitely more drawn to the tropical vibes of the painkiller.
Our welcome glass of rose – they know the way to my heart.
Seared pork belly – this was so decadent and delicious.
Mussels – I’m not a fan of them in general but they’re sure nice to look at.
Quinoa salad… confession, this was my first time eating quinoa! You can’t go wrong with a salad as long as it has blue cheese and spiced nuts like this one does.
Braised bone-in pork shank. It fell right off of the bone and the texture was melt in your mouth. The baby zucchini, walnut gremolata, cous-cous, and ricotta salata it came with was great. This dish was definitely the star of the night.
