Posto never fails to create pizzas that are prettier than I will ever be. Their brick & mortar location in Davis Square is a beautiful space but it’s pretty far from my apartment, so I thank my lucky stars that they have Posto Mobile bringing food to the Financial District every week. On this particular day, I had packed a salad for lunch and was dreading the thought of it. Once I scrolled through my instagram feed and landed on Posto Mobile’s photo announcing that they were at High St @ Greenway, it was a done deal. F the salad, I was treating myself to some good pizza instead.
My soppressata pizza, seen above, was great. It was a little different from the pizzas I usually order in that it had a lighter, healthier taste to it, even though it’s covered in beautiful large pieces of soppressata. Posto’s soppressata pizza usually comes with peppers, but since I’m not a fan I asked for them to leave them off. I also asked for my pizza a little well done because I just love when the meat crisps up a little bit. They were more than happy to accommodate both of those requests, and my pizza was ready in just a few minutes.
I grabbed some chili oil & crushed red pepper flakes and added a little bit of both once I got back to my office – in the future though, I’ll probably skip that step. The pizza did not need any added spiciness. I was happy after the first bite, with the high quality mozzarella, arugula, oregano, and soppressata all coming together like I imagined it would. If I could change one thing about this pizza, I would actually like to try it with some sauce – that’s just my personal preference though, and I say that knowing that Posto’s tomato sauce is just as tasty as the rest of their ingredients. One pizza is large enough to split into two servings which makes it even more of a great lunch option. Now, the question is: Would you share, or keep it all to yourself?
