I’ve recently hit the 4 year mark at my office job here in Boston’s Financial District. We always get our office parties catered by Pavia, but other than those occasions, I really haven’t gone there very often. This might be one of my biggest regrets as a young professional. Their food is cheap, the portions are large, the lines are never too long, and they have a ton of options. 2017 goal: try more of their slices. On this particular Wednesday, I grabbed a Formaggio slice.
One Pavia slice is a slice of a pretty huge pizza, so it’s definitely enough for lunch. Their specialty slices cost $3.59, so yeah… $4 for a lunch in the Financial District is normally unheard of. The Formaggio pizza itself was like a giant slice of cheesy bread. The ricotta dollops are rich and the pizza avoids being too oily but I don’t really dig the provolone. I just don’t think it adds much to the pizza. The crust is thin and floppy. As I got to the end of the slice, I actually started to feel really full – all of that cheese sure is satisfying. I actually don’t know if I would get this slice from Pavia again, unless I was craving a lot of cheese. For cheese cravings though, this definitely hits the spot.
