Does this breakfast pizza from Lower Mills Tavern look amazing or does it look amazing? Lower Mills Tavern opened up down the road from my apartment a few months ago, but I haven’t gathered up the motivation to go until this past New Year’s Eve. I had to go for a run, I didn’t want to run, so I got my boyfriend to agree to meet me at LMT at the end of said run. Pizza as a motivation to work out always does the trick.
Lower Mills Tavern’s breakfast pizza has pepper jack cheese, “bangers” sausages, bacon, eggs, basil, and delightful little dollops of ricotta. The crust was very thin and crispy, which isn’t my personal favorite, but it wasn’t bad. It definitely led to a lot of crumbs when I was eating the reheated leftovers. The sausages, again, weren’t my favorite, but I think I just wished that there was more bacon. I like my breakfast meat as crispy as possible. Yolk porn was definitely present thanks to the eggs, and while the pepper jack wasn’t memorable, the ricotta definitely was.
All in all, I really liked this breakfast pizza. One pizza is easily enough for two servings. I reheated my leftovers for breakfast the next day and besides the crust being a little too crumbly, everything else was perfect. It’s gonna be hard for me to try anything else on Lower Mills Tavern’s brunch menu.
