I’ve seen Devour Pizza ads on Draftkings (get a $20 contest ticket with my referral link!) for long enough that when I saw that ibotta currently has a coupon for $1.25 off Devour Pizzas, I decided I’d give them a try. Devour promises a crispy and buttery crust, with ooey mozzarella and three different kinds of pepperonis: slices, quarter slices, and chopped.
At first glance out of the package, Devour Pizza Three Way Pepp looks like the kind of frozen pizza that I would engineer in a lab, except, I would for sure NOT make it octagon shaped as a tribute to the UFC. Different strokes for different folks!
Devour Pizza’s instructions are pretty simple- bake at 375F on a baking sheet for 24-25 minutes.
My Devour Pizza Three Way Pepp review:
Devour Pizza’s Three Way Pepp Frozen Pizza looked decent out of the oven, but I was aghast as soon as I picked up a slice. The crust was super bready and spongy, getting stuck to the roof of our mouths but without any taste to show for it. The advertised crisp was barely delivered on.
The sauce and mozzarella were fine but not much to write home about. The sauce was slightly herby but pretty lightly applied, and the mozzarella had a decent taste, but nothing that jumped out.
However, Devour Pizza did deliver on one thing: the pepperoni were fucking delicious. I loved the different textures of the variety of pepperonis, which all got nice and crispy. The chopped pepperoni in particular were well executed, especially compared to the rest of the pizza.
Priced at $8.99, Devour Pizza needs to deliver a better crust than this. The toppings tasted really savory and really delivered on the pepperoni frozen pizza craving I was having, but the crust truly was a disappointment. Devour, please fix the crust, it’ll go a long way!
