City Tap House is a new restaurant in Fort Point that opened up right in time for the New Year. After attending their grand opening party, I knew I had to get back to try out their pizzas. When they invited me back in, I was lucky enough to sample most of the pizzas on City Tap House’s menu. It’s a hard job, but someone’s gotta do it.
Their honey-goat cheese pizza won the award for “most different from my expectations.” The pistachio pesto was a little heavy and I would have liked the goat cheese and honey to shine a little more – this is definitely a pizza to share!
This is the tartufo pizza with guanicale, roasted portabellos, taleggio, eggs, and truffles. I’m not a mushroom gal, so I could have done without the portabellos, but the truffles were to die for. Taleggio always makes me happy too. If you do like mushrooms, you will love this pizza.
Margherita, duh. Mozzarella, tomato sauce, basil, and EVOO – it’s as pretty as it tastes.
My favorite pizza out of the four – prosciutto and fig. As you can see, there’s a nice little arugula and parmesan salad on top. The prosciutto is the good stuff, and pairs perfectly with the stilton blue cheese. I will always love prosciutto and blue cheese, and this is no exception.
City Tap House is about a 10 minute walk from South Station, aka perfect for almost every young professional in the city. They have a huge patio that I guarantee will be packed once it’s warm out – I’ll definitely be back to check this hypothesis.
