Update: As of 2016, Bravo Pizza closed.
It’s about time I show some love for pizza that’s actually in my current neighborhood, Allston. My boyfriend and I ordered this on New Year’s Eve as a pre-party snack. The reviews were pretty good and they’re 5 minutes away from me, so thus, Bravo Pizza got the call.
We ordered a small pepperoni, which cost about $10, and was about the size of a “medium” from Domino’s. Bravo’s crust was slightly thin and crispy, with not a bunch of taste. It was greasy towards the middle and dryer on the outside, a sure sign of toppings overload. The pepperonis were kind of tasteless and greasy. Not bad, not great. The cheese was good, probably the best part. There was definitely some cheddar mixed in, YUM. The sauce was on the sweet side and had a good tomato taste but wasn’t really “pow” or anything.
There is something to be said about the fact that I’ve never gone to this place and I’ve lived so close to it for more than a year. I would go ahead and say this is great “stumble home drunk from the bar” pizza, conveniently located on Brighton Ave across from TITS. It held up overnight in the fridge and still tasted good the next day, reheated. Overall, this pizza did the job and gets points for the convenient location. Would order again, but not if I lived in a different neighborhood.
